About the role
The Wire Transfer Operations Specialist processes domestic and international outbound wire transfers for retail, commercial and trust clients, and performs the verification steps required before a payment is released. This position works on site at the Riverfront Operations Center and follows the published wire cutoff schedule.

What you will do
- Process outbound domestic wires through the Federal Reserve payment terminal and international wires through our correspondent relationship, up to the 4:00 p.m. Eastern cutoff.
- Perform sanctions and watchlist screening on every outbound payment and clear or escalate every hit in accordance with the compliance procedure.
- Perform the required verification call to the client contact of record for payment instructions that meet the conditions set in the wire procedure, and document the verification in the payment record.
- Release payments under dual control. No single employee originates and releases the same payment.
- Research and respond to incoming payment inquiries, returns and recall requests.
- Maintain the daily reconcilement of the wire settlement account.
What we are looking for
- Two or more years in wire transfer, payment operations or deposit operations at a bank.
- Working knowledge of Fedwire and of correspondent international payment procedures.
- Careful, procedure driven work habits. This role handles high value payments and every control step is auditable.
- Ability to pass an enhanced background review as required for payment origination roles.
