Calder Financial Corporation Reports Fourth Quarter and Full Year 2024 Results

Total assets of $4.01 billion, net income of $11.6 million, and a return on average assets of 1.16 percent.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. Calder Financial Corporation, the holding company for Calder Bank & Trust, N.A., today reported net income of $11.6 million, or $0.92 per diluted share, for the quarter ended December 31, 2024. The company reported net income of $9.3 million, or $0.74 per diluted share, for the same quarter of 2023.

For the full year, net income was $44.3 million, or $3.53 per diluted share.

Total assets were $4.01 billion at quarter end. Total deposits were $3.43 billion and total loans were $2.84 billion. Net interest margin was 3.50 percent for the quarter. The efficiency ratio was 57.8 percent. Nonperforming assets were 0.34 percent of total assets. Return on average assets was 1.16 percent.

Assets under administration in the Wealth and Trust division were $3.0 billion at quarter end.

"We added 51 commercial relationships in the quarter, most of them in the Tri-Cities and Knoxville, and we added them without reaching for credit we would be explaining later," said Ellis R. Vandergriff, President and Chief Executive Officer.

"Credit costs were modest and nonperforming assets ended the quarter at 0.34 percent of total assets," said Margo Ballew, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. "Common equity tier one was 13 percent."

The board of directors declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.20 per share, payable February 28, 2025 to shareholders of record on February 14, 2025.
