The routing number for Calder Bank & Trust, N.A. is 064209731. It is the same number at every Calder office, and the same number is used for ACH transactions (including direct deposit) and for incoming domestic wire transfers. A wire uses this routing number plus several other pieces of information, listed further down this page.
Routing number (ABA): 064209731
Some banks publish one routing number for ACH and a different one for wires. Calder does not. One number covers both.
The bottom line of a personal Calder check carries three numbers, printed left to right in magnetic ink. Many business checks add a fourth field at the far left that repeats the check number.
| Position | What it is | Length | Value |
|---|---|---|---|
| Left | Routing number | 9 digits | 064209731 on every Calder check |
| Middle | Your account number | Varies | Specific to your account |
| Right | Check number | 3 to 4 digits | Matches the number in the upper right corner |
If you do not have checks, your account number is on your statement and in Q2 Online under account details. You can also call us at (423) 555-0142 or stop at any office. To order checks, see order checks.
Use this table when a payroll department, a biller or a sending bank asks you for banking details. Give only what the transaction actually requires.

A domestic wire moves over the Fedwire network and settles the same business day it is sent. It uses routing number 064209731, but the routing number alone is not enough. A sending bank will reject or return a wire that is missing the beneficiary details. Give the sender all of the following.
Incoming domestic wires received by 4:00 p.m. Eastern on a business day are credited the same business day. Wires received after that time, or on a weekend or a federal holiday, are credited the next business day. Fees are listed on the rates and fees page.
Outgoing wires are requested in person at any office during lobby hours, or by telephone with callback verification for customers who have signed a funds transfer agreement. Commercial clients initiate outgoing wires in Treasury Gateway, which requires Duo Security approval on every transfer. See treasury management.
Calder Bank & Trust does not send new or corrected wire instructions by email, and neither does a legitimate title company, attorney or contractor without confirming by phone first. If you receive an email, a text or a portal message telling you that wire instructions have changed, stop and call the party at a number you already had, not a number in the message. Then call us at (423) 555-0142. Wire fraud losses are usually not recoverable once the funds leave. More at report fraud and security.
Calder Bank & Trust does not hold a SWIFT BIC of its own. This is ordinary for a community bank of our size, and it does not prevent you from receiving money from abroad. International wires reach us through a correspondent bank that does hold a SWIFT BIC. The sending bank abroad wires the funds to the correspondent, and the correspondent forwards them to your Calder account using routing number 064209731 and your account number.
Because the correspondent bank and its instructions can change, we do not publish them on this page. Call (423) 555-0142 and ask for wire operations, or ask at any office, and we will give you the current correspondent name, its SWIFT BIC and the exact wording the sender should use. Commercial clients can also request them through their treasury officer.
| Step | What happens | Typical timing |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Sender's bank abroad sends the wire to our correspondent bank using the correspondent's SWIFT BIC | Same day the sender releases it |
| 2 | Correspondent bank converts the funds to US dollars if they were sent in another currency | Same day the correspondent receives it. The exchange rate is set by the correspondent, not by Calder. |
| 3 | Correspondent forwards the funds to routing number 064209731 for credit to your account | Usually 1 to 3 business days after step 1 |
| 4 | Calder credits your account and the wire appears in Q2 Online | Same business day we receive it, if before 4:00 p.m. Eastern |
Intermediary and correspondent banks may deduct their own charges before the funds reach us, so the amount credited can be less than the amount sent. Calder does not control those deductions.
Direct deposit of payroll, a pension or a federal benefit uses routing number 064209731 and your account number. Most employers and agencies ask for a voided check or a bank letter confirming the account. We will print a bank letter at any office at no charge.
An ACH debit is the reverse: you give a biller the same two numbers and authorize them to pull the payment. An ACH debit is not the same as a wire. It is reversible under network rules in limited circumstances, it usually settles in one or two business days, though an originator that uses Same Day ACH can settle the day it is sent, and it requires your written or recorded authorization. If you did not authorize a debit that posted to your account, call us at (423) 555-0142. Under Regulation E you must notify us within 60 days of the date we sent or made available the statement showing the unauthorized debit. We may ask you to put the claim in writing. Waiting past 60 days can cost you the right to be reimbursed. See disclosures.
Give your employer routing number 064209731, your account number and your account type. Ask us for a bank letter if a voided check is not accepted. See personal checking.
Send the full instruction set above to the sender, not just the routing number. Confirm the beneficiary name matches the account exactly.
Consumers can deposit by phone camera through mobile banking. Businesses can use remote deposit capture.
No. Calder uses 064209731 for both. If a form asks for a separate wire ABA, enter 064209731.
No. All 61 offices use 064209731, including accounts opened before an office joined Calder.
Because we do not have one. The sender needs the correspondent bank's SWIFT BIC instead. Call (423) 555-0142 for the current correspondent instructions.
Give the headquarters address, 401 Market Street, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37402, even if you bank at a different office.
The routing number is public and appears on every Calder check. Your account number is not public. Give the two together only to a party you chose and can identify, such as your employer or a biller you set up yourself.
Call us immediately at (423) 555-0142. We will send a recall request to the receiving bank, but a completed wire is final and the receiving bank is not obligated to return the funds. Recovery depends on whether the money is still there.
No. Card issues go through lost or stolen card, which is staffed around the clock.
Wire transfers are governed by Article 4A of the Uniform Commercial Code as adopted in Tennessee, by applicable Federal Reserve rules and by your funds transfer agreement with Calder Bank & Trust. A payment order is executed on the identifying number supplied by the sender. If the account number and the beneficiary name do not agree, the receiving bank may act on the number alone, so verify both before sending. Wire transfers are generally final when accepted and cannot be canceled without the cooperation of the receiving bank. One exception: an international wire sent by a consumer for personal, family or household purposes is a remittance transfer under Regulation E. For those transfers you may cancel for at least 30 minutes after you pay, you receive written disclosures of the rate, fees and the amount the recipient will get, and you have 180 days to report an error. ACH entries are governed by the Nacha Operating Rules and by Regulation E for consumer accounts. Cutoff times stated on this page are Eastern time on business days that are not federal holidays. Fees for incoming and outgoing transfers are shown on the rates and fees page and in the fee schedule delivered with your account agreement.
